Differnt Ways, Invensive & non-invensive Methods
If you own a Segway Ninebot Max or Xiaomi electric scooter, you may be unsatisfied with its speed. This article explores ways to surpass these limitations and enhance your scooter's speed. Let's delve into the pros and cons of modern scooters and discover how to modify the Segway Ninebot Max and Xiaomi Scooters.
In this article we discuss how to changing the board programming of the scooter, which is sort of like an invensive procedure! if you wan to know how to adjust the speed of the scooter without the invensive method, based on the manufacturer's guide lines, please check out the article "How to Unlock ninebot Max Speed"
How to Hack the Speed by Changing the Programming of the Scooter’s Boards
We explain how to do it for both Segway ninebot Max and Xiaomi electric scooters.
Segway ninebot Max G30:
The Segway Ninebot Max typically reaches a maximum speed of around 25 kilometres per hour in Sport mode. Luckily, hacking the speed limit for this scooter is a straightforward process. What you need is
- Use an Android phone.
- Download the XiaoFlasher app.
- Enable Bluetooth and connect to the scooter via the Xiaomi app.
- Access the XiaoFlasher main page to change the region and select options.
- Choose the US region to unlock a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour.
- A pop-up may ask for a developer contribution, but it's not mandatory.
- Once the modification is successful, the scooter will beep.
Xiaomi Scooters
Unlocking the speed of Xiaomi scooters follows a similar process as Segway ninebot Max. You need
- Use an Android phone.
- Download the XiaoFlasher app.
- Open the app and select the "CFM Full Speed More Power" button on the main page.
- Proceed to "Flash selected file" and carefully follow the instructions.
- Upon successful completion, your modified Xiaomi scooter is ready to hit the road, with a speed increase of approximately 34 kilometers per hour.
The Results of Our Tests After Speed Modification on Ninebot Max G30 and Xiaomi Electric Scooters
To gauge the impact of these modifications, we conducted tests on the ninebot Max and Xiaomi e-scooters before and after the speed alteration. The Xiaomi scooter exhibited impressive performance with its unlocked speed capabilities. It maintained full speed for approximately one bar or around 10% of the battery before gradually decreasing to about 26-27 kilometres per hour. Conversely, the Ninebot Max G30 handled the increased power more efficiently, sustaining its speed consistently almost until the battery died completely.
Implication of Speed Modifications on Electric Scooters
Firstly, riding at higher speeds exposes you to a higher risk of accidents. Safety should always be a priority, even when riding at normal speeds. Speed limits vary by country, with some jurisdictions setting limits as low as 20 kilometres per hour. In countries like America, the limit is typically 30 kilometres per hour. Exceeding these limits can result in speeding tickets, with fines often surpassing the scooter's price.
Secondly, manufacturers carefully engineer scooters, considering factors such as motor power, weight, and braking capabilities to ensure optimal performance. Altering the speed limit may impact battery life, distance range, and the overall riding experience.
While we enjoy pushing everything to its limits, it is crucial to consider these factors before deciding to unlock the speed on your scooter. On the positive side, a faster scooter provides an exhilarating experience, facilitates easier uphill rides, and does not significantly affect battery life. Ultimately, the decision rests with you. However, bear in mind that modifying your scooter may void the manufacturer's warranty.
